Monday Feature: Felice Stevens

Welcome to the first Monday Feature post of 2017! My guest is the lovely Felice Stevens, who will be chatting about her writing, sharing her upcoming novel and long-awaited sequel, as well as hosting a giveaway! Without further ado, let's begin!

C.S.: What do you write?
Felice: Books. ;)  LOL I write contemporary MM Romance.

C.S.: Why do you enjoy this genre?
Felice: I love to tell stories of people falling in love, especially in a big city like New York where the odds always seem against you.

C.S.: Tell us about your writing space
Felice: Um, honestly I don’t have one. I lay on my sofa in my living room and write or I write at my dining room table.

C.S.: What sort of work-related items do you keep at hand?
Felice: Coffee. My phone to check the thesaurus and some craft books. Occasionally a snack.

C.S.: What’s the weirdest item you keep nearby that’s not at all beneficial to writing?
Felice: I don’t think I have one!!

C.S.: Do you have any ‘good luck’ charms?
Felice: Nope.

C.S.: What’s easily the most distracting item in your writing space?
Felice: My husband. LOL

C.S.: Do you have any bad habits when you write?
Felice: Oh God yes. I watch TV and check social media. Plus when I get to writing a sex scene or I’m near the end of finishing the book I stop and start doing other stuff.

C.S.: What time of day are you most creative?
Felice: Early morning and walking to work.

C.S.: Do you have any ‘helpful’ pets?
Felice: No. *pouts.*

C.S.: What do you do to de-stress or enjoy that’s unrelated to writing?
Felice: I watch Bravo reality TV lol. Works wonders.

C.S.: Do you eat or snack while writing?
Felice: Oh yes. I may eat jelly beans, although no more since I’m trying to get off sugar. Sometimes popcorn or chips. Sometimes baby carrots and baked snap peas.

C.S.: Listen to music? If so, does the soundtrack change with projects?
Felice: No. I can’t listen while I write. That distracts me and I’ll start singing to music instead of writing. But I do have songs for my books.

C.S.: Question from the audience, would you ever co-write a novel?
Felice: Funny you should ask….Why yes I believe I would.

Release Date: January 31, 2017

Blurb: Ryder Daniels and Jason Mallory seem to have it all but even the most loving marriage takes work. Ryder's past leads him to remain silent yet resentful in the face of conflict while Jason strives to prove he can take care of his family without Ryder's wealth, even if it costs him precious time with his husband and daughter.

When a devastating illness leaves them shaken and helpless, Ryder is forced to face the one person he never thought to see again with a life or death request that even he isn't sure will be granted, but his decisions have far-reaching consequences. Believing he and Ryder have no secrets, Jason is distraught to discover otherwise, revealing yet another crack in their once-perfect relationship.

Adrift and uncertain, both struggle to hold onto a love previously thought unshakeable. A forbidden past is exposed, shocking Ryder to the core, but it means little without Jason by his side. Marriage is a partnership and both men must learn that only by working through their pain and heartbreak together can they achieve a lifetime of love.

Author Bio: I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending around the corner. My characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy and that includes love.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there are bound to be a few bumps along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.
