Oh boy.
Here we go again....
Welcome to 2026!
December ended on a hell of a bad note—my beloved little shadow cat, Kasper, had to be unexpectedly put to sleep on Christmas Eve—and I've not been in the most pleasant or productive of moods since then.
There was no end-of-year wrap, (but don't worry, I only released one book) nor have I been very good at promotion these last few months (there have been a lot of great foreign translations! and an audiobook! did I even tell you?) but the one plus to it being January 1st is that I always feel like I've been given a clean slate, a fresh start, a chance to do better.
So what's in the works from C.S. Poe?
A lot. But because I continue to be a little stitious, I'm not making any major announcements or setting pre-order dates until projects are near completion. It's less stress on my ADHD-brain and easier on my production team to not be surprised with last minute deadlines.
In general, this is what I'll be working on throughout 2026:
A Friend in the Wind (Auden & O'Callaghan 4)
Astor Place Assault (Memento Mori 5)
The Councilman (Magic & Steam 4)
I've also been working on a totally self-indulgent, fanfic-esque re-imaging of Memento Mori that's essentially a contemporary romance between teenage Everett and Ira—it's already 1/3 written! It might sound silly, and it's completely non-canon, so readers are in no way required to pick up a copy when it's published, but working on it is bringing joy back to writing, and in the last few years, I lost that connection I had with art. So this project will absolutely be finished in 2026, if for no one but myself.
I will also be showing my face at a few in-person events:
January 10: Thrillerdelphia, PA
February 19 - 22: Coastal Magic Convention, FL
July 19 - 22: Working Draft Summer Camp, IL
July 24 - 25: RomantiConn, CT
In the meantime, keep visiting this blog for book news, releases, and sales. I'll continue to share reviews of books read, movies watched, and museums visited, if you're into that. I've also started a Tumblr, which will be for not-writing related, every day sort of journaling, and I welcome others to join me!
