Reads: April, 2022
April was a long month of decompressing, as I realize, looking back, I was very near every author's biggest fear: burnout. I didn't even get much reading done, to be honest. It was a month of committing to healthier routines and getting back on track for the rest of the year, which I am confident I've achieved!
The Hell You Say (An Adrien English Mystery 3) by Josh Lanyon
Father Complex (Hazard and Somerset: Arrows in the Hand 4) by Gregory Ashe
As always, I post my reviews to both Goodreads and BookBub and appreciate new followers.

Blurb - Detective Everett Larkin of New York City’s Cold Case Squad has been on medical leave since catching the serial killer responsible for the Death Mask Murders. But Larkin hasn’t forgotten the anonymously delivered letter, nor its suggestion, that another memento—another death—is waiting to be found.
Summer brings the grisly discovery of skeletal remains deep in the subway system, but the circumstances resemble one of Larkin’s already open cases, so the elite detective resumes active duty. When a postmortem photograph, akin to those taken during the Victorian Era, is located at the scene, Larkin requests aid from the most qualified man he knows: Detective Ira Doyle of the Forensic Artists Unit.
With an unsolved case that suffered from tunnel vision, and the deconstruction of death portraits, Larkin and Doyle are descending down a rabbit hole as complex as the tunnels beneath Manhattan. And if this investigation wasn’t enough, both detectives are struggling with how to address the growing intimacy between them, because sometimes, love is more grave than murder.

Translation: Jour de chance

2022: Quarter 2
Welcome to Quarter 2 of 2022!
We're back with another attempt at keeping folks updated on projects and the general turnaround expected of each process, from writing to audio mastering. Quarter 1 had a serious mishap, as I quite literally began January 1st with Covid and was unable to write for nearly the entire month. Despite trying to convince myself to the contrary, I couldn't make up the time lost, and so projects have shifted about one month, which includes the release of The Doctor (Magic & Steam: Book Three). Pushing a release is absolutely the last resort, but it came down to: I push it one month or I skip half of the editing production, and since I would never belittle the editorial process... I really appreciate everyone's understanding, and I hope the next Gillian and Gunner adventure is worth the wait!

The Doctor (Magic & Steam 3) once again took up most of my month, but I got a few great reads in, including an old favorite. Mixing pleasure reading in amongst the research definitely does the heart and mind good!
